Boat Show Who said boating in Hong Kong was floundering? It certainly wasn’t at the Hong Kong International Boat Show 2025, held at Club Marina Cove from Thursday, the 4th till Sunday, the 7th of December. Regular exhibitors and some exciting new names filled the berths and the stalls on the club’s hardstand thronged with visitors. |

Star of the show was the enormous Sunseeker 100 Yacht, displayed by DCH Marine. How does 12 guests, five crew and a top speed of 30 knots sound to you? |

Then there was NextWave, China Pacific, Ferretti, Asia Marine, Absolute and more in the water, and Grandtech, Hostmost and Marine Link among others out the water. Something for everyone, you might say, including a new lobby group called Hong Kong Yachting Association. Hmmm . . . that name rings a bell. |

There were some who were concerned that the Lantau Yacht Club Boat Show in October would steal Marina Cove’s thunder but, no. General manager Maria Carrillo and her team put on a great event and long may it continue, in a regular format, at a regular time, in a regular place, at a regular price. Then ‘regular’ players in the local marine industry can plan ahead and afford to participate in what is Hong Kong’s oldest boat show. |
